Stampin’ Up! Field Flower Love

field flower love card angle “Navy Pacific Sand” – the Splitcoaststampers Color Challenge!  I used a few interesting techniques on this Field Flowers love card including brayering the embossing folder and creating faux washi tape.

I started by stamping the stems in Sahara Sand, then in Night of Navy which creates a bit of shadow.  The flower outlines were then stamped in Night of Navy with Sahara Sand shading.  I then cut this with the largest framelit from the Apothecary Accents framelits set.

I used Pacific Point to sponge the interior of the flower and the edges of the panel, then a lighter sponge throughout.  Then I used Dazzling Details to add some heavy glitter to the center of the flowers.

Before embossing the Sahara Sand card front, I brayered Sahara Sand on the embossing folder so when I ran it through the Big Shot it creates a contrasting shadow.  The Apothecary flower panel was attached to the card front.

The faux washi tape was created with scotch tape and International Bazaar Designer Series Paper.  This is a technique I learned at the Stampin’ Up! Chattanooga Regional event.  I taped a section of pattern paper then ‘washed off’ the back of the pattern paper until it appears clear.

Stampin’ Up! Moving Forward Flower Baskets

moving forward flower pots thinking of you angle This cheery friendship card was inspired by a card from the Stampin’ Up! demonstrator magazine (get your copy when you join today for only $99) and features the Ronald McDonald House Charities Stamp Set, Moving Forward, as shown on the inside back cover of the Stampin’ Up! catalog.  When you purchase this set, $3 will be donated to charity.

The petite basket is actually from the cute bicycle image.  Using a Early Espresso Marker, I colored and stamped only the basket three times.  Using the same method I stamped ‘Thinking of You’.  And lastly using markers again, I colored the flowers and stamped them in the baskets.  This video demonstrates how to stamp with markers.

Once the images are stamped, I centered a Collection Labels framelit over it, secured it with post it notes and ran it through the Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine.  The tiniest Basic Jewels Pearls were added to the flower centers.

The card base is 6″x6″ square of Pumpkin Pie card stock, folded in half to produce a 3″x6″ card.  Matching Polka Dot Parade paper was trimmed into a flag banner.  View Monday’s video to see how to easily create a flag end with a square punch.  Or view it here.

Primrose Petals Stitched Satin Ribbon was added down the right side and tied with bakers twine before the label was adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals.   The Stitched Satin Ribbon is yummy.  Great colors, great look and fabulous to work with.  It’s super soft and pliable!  Love it!  And there’s no limit.  A free spool for EVERY $40 in ordered product.

Tricky Treats Halloween 2-4-6-8 box

2-4-6-8 Halloween Treat Box

Tricky Treats Halloween 2-4-6-8 box

This 2-4-6-8 Halloween treat box is so super easy to make and I recorded a video to show you how to make the box and the tag.

If you are reading in email you can view the video tutorial here or here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yqzBaSikDNg

This simple box is made with a half a sheet of paper measuring 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″.  This box was embossed with the Spider Web Embossing Folder.  To emboss the box you’ll need to emboss it twice, running it through the Big Shot once on each side before assembling the box.

Tricky Treats 2-4-6-8 Halloween box top

There are several options for closing up the top; you can use ribbon or a topper.  In this sample the top was folded in and secured with a Glimmer Brad, then the tag was hung from the brad.

Punches make quick work for tag creation!

This cute spider would look adorable with googlie eyes!  And the adhesive backed googlie eyes available in the Holiday Catalog would make that quick to do, but in this case I colored his eyes with a So Saffron marker to add just a tinge of color.

RIBBON SPECIAL!  Don’t forget to order during the month of September and receive FREE ribbon (value $8.95) for every $40 in product ordered.  What does that mean?  For example, if you purchase the Simply Scored Scoring Tool and Diagonal Plate you would earn a Free spool of ribbon.  If you purchase the Big Shot, you’ll receive 2 spools of ribbon.  If your total order is over $150 you would earn 3 spools of ribbon PLUS $25 in Stampin’ Rewards FREE product.  Questions?  Let me know.

Have Yourself a Merry Pink Christmas!

joyous celebrations pink christmas card angle I’m usually super traditional when it comes to Christmas – which means lots of bright Christmas reds and greens – so I wasn’t sure about making a pink Christmas card.  What a great challenge though!  This is my 3rd installment for the SCS color challenge: Lucky Primrose Pirouettes with the add-on challenge of making a pink Christmas card.  So the official colors this week were Lucky Limeade, Pink Pirouette, and Primrose Petals.  I love these colors!

Here’s a video tutorial.  (From email, view it here or here http://youtu.be/mo5XVWKFc-Y)

. joyous celebrations pink christmas card close up

I used a LOT of Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder on this card, which is soooo impossible to photograph.  Ugh!  Anyway, I embossed Whisper White card stock with the Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine and the Holiday Frame Embossing Folder.  Then, using a brayer, I lightly rolled VersaMark ink and Pink Pirouette ink over the raised panel, after which I dusted it with Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder and heat embossed.

joyous celebrations pink christmas card detail

I trimmed around the embossed panel with my Paper Snips and layered it on Pink Pirouette card stock.  The card base measures 4″ x 5-1/2″ for an even border on all edges.

The ornament was stamped with Primrose Petals and embossed with……that’s right!…Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder!!  Love that stuff!  The holly was inked with Lucky Limeade and then I tapped the brush tip of the Primrose Petals marker on the berries before stamping.  These pieces were adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals and Glue Dots.  I tied a Pirouette Pink Satin Ribbon bow and attached it with Glue Dots including adding a couple under the tails to give it shape.

And finally, I added a few rhinestones.  You can never go wrong with glitter and rhinestones!

So it turns out, I like a pink Christmas card!
