Really Good Greetings Thank You Flowers

really good greetings flower thank you card www.stampingjulie.comI’ve had the idea for this thank you card swimming around my head since the introduction of the new Stampin’ Up! In Colors – Strawberry Slush, Baked Brown Sugar, Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe, and Pistachio Pudding.  If you look closely you’ll see that the front panel is scored into sections, then in each section is a Floral Fusion Sizzlets flower with the ‘gee, thanks’ (from the new Stampin’ Up! Really Good Greetings stamp set) stamped in the top middle section in Strawberry Slush.

I even made a matching envelope.  The envelope was stamped with the flowers from Betsy’s Blossoms in Strawberry Slush.  I’m making a coordinating envelope with almost every card these days.  It doesn’t take much to do and I think it makes the card extra special.  But if you are like me you are wondering about the dimensions on this card.

really good greetings flower thank you card www.stampingjulie.com

I had to do some real math to get this panel to work out just right.  Here’s my math.  The card base measures 3-3/4″ x 5-1/2″.  The front panel is 3-1/2″ x 5-1/4″.  The front panel is scored across at 1-3/4″ and 3-1/2″ and then turned and scored crosswise at 1-3/4″.  When you are done, each scored section is 1-3/4″ square.  Of course, the Simply Scored Scoring Tool made this a super simple task!

The new Strawberry Slush In Color is definitely one of my favorites, so I used that to stamp the greeting.  If you stamp your greeting on an angle, you didn’t have to worry about lining it up just right to make it straight.  Plus, I think it adds more whimsy and interest to the card.  What do you think?

Each flower was centered with a circle of contrasting cardstock and topped with a rhinestone.  I just love the self-adhesive rhinestone Basic Jewels.  And I love the fact that they also come with a few rhinestones attached in a line, which was perfect to underline ‘gee, thanks’.

Mosaic Madness Bridal Shower Gift Card

label love mosaic madness gift card

I cannot even tell you how much fun I had playing with these new products!!! Label Love and Mosaic Madness stamp sets with the matching embossing folder and punches, and new colors – Crisp Cantaloupe, Smoky Slate, Pistachio Pudding, and Coastal Cabana.

my boo

Remember my cute niece Danideej from here, here and here. She’s getting married!!  I went to Nashville, Tennessee, to attend her bridal shower, and I wanted a special card to include with her gift. I made this card with Danielle in mind.

label love mosaic madness gift card

This card measures 4-1/4″ square. The white panel is 4″ square and embossed with the Modern Mosaic embossing folder.  I always trim out my panel first before embossing.  If you do it the other way around, you run the risk of damaging the embossing while you’re trimming – so cut first.

label love mosaic madness gift card

I also decorated a standard-sized envelope to match the card by stamping Crisp Cantaloupe three times without reinking which created this shaded design.

This cute, clean card is easy to make with the matching stamps and punch.  I simply stamp the mosaics in the colors I wanted and quickly punch them out and adhered them to the embossed background. Easy peasy!

label love mosaic madness gift card

By stamping the Label Love ‘just for you’ twice in Smoky Slate and Crisp Cantaloupe and then punching and trimming, I made this two-tone tag.  The natural trim is an unexpected element, which is what I was going for.  I love the texture and contrast.

Stampin' Up! Aviary CAS Greeting Card angleA Clean and Simple Greeting Card

I absolutely love the Aviary Stamp Set! Here are a couple of samples from this past year. One is super simple and the other is more involved, but both include bright little birds.

And here’s the other which is a little more involved with more bright color birds inspired by the Summer Smooches designer series paper and includes rhinestone accents.

Glittery Watercolor Friend Card

just believe watercolor glitter card www.stampingjulie.com

I really like watercolor cards  with unexpected color splashes so I thought I would experiment with the technique and I ended up with the inky fingers to prove it!  I used Shimmery White cardstock and the Just Believe stamp set for this experiment.

just believe watercolor glitter card www.stampingjulie.com

I stamped the label with Midnight Muse and embossed it with clear embossing powder.  Then I stamped ‘friends’ with Primrose Petals.  After trimming out the label I layered it on a Silver Glimmer paper label.  I used Primrose Petals and Silver Glimmer cardstock to create and layer the butterflies from the Beautiful Wings Embosslits die.

just believe watercolor glitter card www.stampingjulie.comI squirted the background cardstock with water before splattering Primrose Petals, Midnight Muse and Always Artichoke reinkers which allowed the ink to spread.  I put a few dabs of Silver Sparkle Dazzling Details glitter adhesive and spread it with my finger on the background.  I also added a couple of dots of the glitter to the butterflies and the flowers on the label.  Finally, I added a few rhinestones.

A Crossword Puzzle Birthday Card

cross my heart crossword puzzle birthday card www.stampingjulie.com
I fell in love with this set when it was introduced in the spring catalog. I loved the little butterfly – I’m a sucker for butterflies, as you know! But I also loved the clever crossword puzzle greetings. I like crossword puzzles; not challenging crossword puzzles, just the easy ones that can be completed in a 15 minute break. I don’t do crossword puzzles for the challenge, I do them for the entertainment.

cross my heart crossword puzzle birthday card www.stampingjulie.com

Even though a cute cupcake comes with the set and is a perfect pair for the happy birthday greeting, I still used the butterfly, because I LOVE butterflies!  (Have I mentioned that?)  And even though the crossword greeting has a whimsical feel, this card has a more sophisticated look I think because of the colors, the die-cut doily and the Natural Composition music paper.  My paper snips made easy work of clipping out the crossword.

oh hello flower greeting card www.stampingjulie.com
This Oh, Hello! flower greeting card came together quickly with a sketch and dsp inspiration.  The sketch is below and was created from the Easter card I made in March.  The designer series paper is part of the new Stampin’ Up! This and That product line.  Today and tomorrow you can get the This and That bundle and save 15%!!

www.stampingjulie.com card sketchI created three cards with this sketch last week: Oh Whale baby card, the Epic Day butterfly thank you card, and the Hello card featured here today.  Each card was inspired by the sketch but each looks totally different from the others.  That’s what I love about sketches!  You have a starting point but the results are unique depending on the materials you use.

oh hello flower greeting card www.stampingjulie.com

For today’s card, I used the colors from the This and That Epic Day dsp and stamped the chevron background in Daffodil Delight.  Then I stamped Oh Hello in Black StazOn.  I purposely trimmed my dsp so that the Calypso Coral that you see in the upper left corner showed up in my piece.

On a scrap paper I colored in the flower stamp with Calypso Coral and Gumball Green markers then added shadowing with Always Artichoke and Cajun Craze before stamping.  I covered the stamped flower with Versamark ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder.  Then I carefully cut it out with my Paper Snips.  I also cut out another blossom from Calypso Coral cardstock and layered that underneath the flower for additional dimension.

oh hello flower greeting card www.stampingjulie.com

I wrapped the die cut oval with Linen Thread by notching the sides with a small paper punch.  I added the flower over the thread with Dimensionals and then tied a knot of Linen Thread and glued it to the stem with Multipurpose Liquid glue.  It’s a whole lot easier to do it that way than to try to tie a knot around that tiny delicate stem!

I will definitely miss this Just Believe stamp set from Stampin’ Up! I love the silhouette flowers and the simple type of the sentiments.  These beautiful images make it super simple to create an elegant greeting card.

To create this card I started with a piece of Whisper White cardstock that I repeatedly stamped the large silhouette flowers with Not Quite Navy.  Then I brayered River Rock at the bottom and Baja Breeze from the top, then adding a little Not Quite Navy brayered from the top.

just believe greeting card stampingjulie.comAfter brayering the background, I used the Label Collection framelit to cut it out this focal panel.  To make the ‘just for you’ tag, I embossed the frame and greeting on River Rock cardstock and punched it out with the Large Oval punch.

The white background is embossed with the Big Shot and the Stripes embossing folder.  Each layer was adhered to the Whisper White cardstock base with Dimensionals.  A little, Baja Breeze Seam Binding ribbon adds the perfect finishing touch.

Oh Whale Baby card

I just couldn’t help but fall in love with the Oh, Whale stamp set and this fabulously fun Sunshine & Sprinkles designer series paper!  (This stamp set and dsp will be discontinued at the end of May.)

Oh Whale baby card

I kept it simple again by using the same card layout from yesterday’s butterfly creation.  And the matching whale sizzlit die makes it a snap to cut this little baby out.  I added a touch of Dazzling Diamonds glitter to highlight this cute Melon Mambo creature, and after trimming it out with the coordinating Happy Whale clearlit die, I popped it up with dimensionals.  (A clearlit die is a die with a window for perfect placement.)

I also added a little Dazzling Diamonds glitter sporadically to the ‘waves’ in the paper.  I stamped ‘hello baby’  from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set in coordinating Pretty in Pink (a color retiring next month).

Something Old, Something New!  This card features the brand new Best of Butterflies stamp set from Stampin’ Up!’s Best of 25 Years series, and the washi tape and designer series paper from the brand new This and That collection.

This butterfly card also includes the Elegant Lines embossing folder which is on the retiring list and will no longer be available after the supplies are depleted.  I love this embossing folder and I’m sad to see it go.  You can view more projects made with this embossing folder here, here and here.

I used an Easter card to inspire today’s creation.  By using the basic design of a previous project it is easy way to be inspired and quickly design a new card!  And no one will guess you are copying off yourself!

best of butterlies epic day thank you card

The This and That Epic Day Designer Series Paper inspired my color choices.  To create the butterfly, I used the ‘rock n roll’ technique.  First I inked up the stamp with Daffodil Delight and then rolled the it in Calypso Coral before stamping.   This stamp works perfectly with the Elegant Butterfly punch and I also layered the butterfly on a punched Basic Gray butterfly.

Best of Butterflies Hope Card

best of butterflies hope cardI saw three challenges at Splitcoaststampers that I combined to create this Best of Butterflies hope card – a color challenge, a sketch challenge and a technique challenge.  These challenges inspired my color selection, the layout and the ribbon loops on this card.  And I used the new totally clear Designer Typeset stamp set to stamp hope.  It’s so easy with this new stamp set to create what ever message you would like.

best of butterflies hope card
Rather than adding the loops under the stamped panel, I decided to trim them to a point and attach them to the top of the panel for a little different look.  Can you see the glitter I added to the butterfly wings.   A little touch of 2-way glue  with a sprinkle of Dazzling Diamonds glitter goes a long way to adding a little something special.
