Clean and Simple Butterflies

This clean and simple butterfly card was a snap to design and create with the Big Shot Die-Cutting MachineBrayering the embossed Whisper White card stock with Baja Breeze makes the embossed design really pop!

The Rhinestones are always just the right touch to finish off the butterflies.  Tip:   I lift these self-adhesive rhinestones off the sheet with the tip of the paper piercing tool.  And I use the strips of connected to rhinestones when I need a few in a row.  Quick and easy without having to line all those little baby’s up!

Can you see the texture in the Baja Breeze embossed panel?

Lots of great texture in this simple card.

Stampin’ Up! Vintage Chic

Vintage Vogue (retiring) is the perfect stamp set for clean and simple chic.  The color scheme is a hint of pink in Blushing Bride (retiring) and the always chic Basic Black.

The background was created by embossing white vellum card stock with the beautiful Finial Press Embossing Folder (retiring).   The embossed vellum was then mounted on Blushing Bride card stock.  The subtle pink behind the vellum shows off the elegant design of the embossed vellum.

The Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine is the star of the show on this card creating the elegant impressed background and the lovely black tag to frame the oval ‘friends’.

A simple little flower from Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack with a tiny pearl adds just the right touch.

Card Recipe:

Clean & Simple Zoo Inspired

You certainly don’t think of clean & simple with zoo, but look at this cute Punch Pals penquin friends card with it’s clean & simple designPenquins aren’t just for Christmas!  Aren’t they just engaging creatures?  So fun to watch as they dive through the water and then pop out onto the shore.

Technique:  Double Punching – The tags were punched with the Word Window punch.  The end of the tag was then reinserted from the top to trim off the end and create a shorter word window.  Technique:  Twine Tapping – I tapped the white baker’s twine with the brush end of the markers to add coordinating color for a little surprise.

The colors were inspired by the Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper and here’s a matching envelope made in seconds with the fabulous Simply Scored Tool and Simply Scored Diagonal Plate.  This paper is available until Monday, April 30 with all the other Summer Smooches preorder.

Summer Smooch Birthday

Summer Smooches and a butterfly make a great birthday card combination!  Remember this project?  It was actually inspired by the card below that I created in My Digital Studio.  The background looks like a paper project – doesn’t it?

The background was made in My Digital Studio with the added punch of a birthday greating and Big Shot butterfly with rhinestone.  The digital designer papers from the Summer Smooches Suite digital content CD and the digital flag punch make this background bright and extra special.  This special release CD is available until April 30th.

I created the background on a 8 1/2 x 11 sheet and then cut the page in quarters to make duplicate cards.  Here’s just the quarter page.  This background could be used for any occasion-don’t you think?
